Protection of sources which supply public drinking water is of vital importance to the residents serviced by Frederick Water. The Frederick Water system is addressed in this plan. The water supply represents a valuable resource and investment which, if it were to become polluted, could negatively impact public health and would be expensive to restore or replace. Reducing or preventing chemical and microbiological contamination of water sources can ideally allow public water systems to avoid costly treatments and minimize future monitoring requirements.
