Job Opportunity- GIS Manager

Frederick Water has an exciting job opportunity for a GIS Manager in our Engineering Department.

Ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in GIS, Geography, Earth Science, Engineering, Computer Science or a related field from an accredited college or university. 

A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a GIS Manager, GIS Coordinator, or similar position with professional-level experience.

Knowledge of GIS mapping software and products including ESRI, ArcGIS, SQL Server, Cityworks, and Python.

Duties include: Plan the future of GIS software development and mange software updates across all platforms. Ensures the timely implementation of GIS-related projects. Assists in the development and management of GIS project plans including defining requirements, tasks, and resource assignments, ensuring that approved quality levels and deadlines are met. Prepares GIS project plans and schedules to include coordinating resources, tasks, and work assignments.  Manages GIS-related teams of Frederick Water staff and vendors to ensure that GIS project objectives and timelines are met.  Serves as a liaison with GIS vendors for the proper acquisition, installation, operation, and maintenance of GIS-related resources. Manages multiple user GIS Databases using SQL Server and Python to automate routine tasks.  Create and administer web application and service for use by Cityworks users and office staff.  Day to day adjustments to workflow and securities within Cityworks to maximize use.
